How to make Ulu Hye's

Zesty Adaptogenic Hot Chocolate

We ‘re all about healthy choices, but sometimes you just have to treat yourself, and our zesty adaptogenic hot chocolate really hits the spot.

Our hot chocolate recipe is:

  • Deliciously decadent
  • Refined sugar-free
  • Rich in magnesium
  • Contains lion’s mane

Lion’s mane is considered a powerful nootropic which means it has the capacity to enhance brain function and cognition. Adding medicinal mushrooms into your  hot drinks is such a great way to build resilience, improve mental function and support your immune function in a powerful way. Have a try and let us know what you think!

Ingredients

  • 600ml nut milk (made using our Nut Mylk Base) *Tip: blend your milk the night before so it thickens up overnight
  • 2 tbsp cacao
  • 1 tbsp chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut cream
  • 1 tbsp liquid sweetener of your choice (e.g. honey or rice malt syrup)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 ginger powder
  • pinch chilli
  • 1 tsp lion's mane

Steps

1

In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and warm over a low to medium heat
2

Stir with a whisk continuously for about 5 minutes
3

Be mindful not to bring to boil as we don't want to milk to split
4

For a frothy finish, you can transfer into your Vitamix or stick blender to blitz for a couple of seconds
5

If you have a thermomix, you can put everything in, set the temperate to 70°C, 5 minutes, then turn up the speed at the end
6

Top with crushed rose petals for a hint of bliss
7

Enjoy!
