How to make Ulu Hye's

Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bites

Our Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bites are so delicious and easy to make, you’ll be able to whip these up at a moment’s notice! Perfect as an afternoon treat or mini dessert, the secret lies with the homemade caramel sauce.


  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • Stewed apples
  • Coconut yogurt
  • Cinnamon
  • Caramel sauce (ingredients below)
  • 1/3 cup tahini (for the caramel sauce)
  • 1/2 cup agave syrup (for the caramel sauce)
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil (for the caramel sauce)
  • 3 tsp mesquite (for the caramel sauce)
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (for the caramel sauce)
  • Pinch of salt (for the caramel sauce)



Preheat oven to 180°C

For the caramel sauce, melt the coconut oil in microwave or over a low heat. Combine coconut oil and remaining caramel filling ingredients in your blender, and on a slow-medium speed combine until smooth - this won't take long

Cut thawed pastry into squares and place in mini cupcake tray moulds

Put a dollop of salted caramel mixture in pastry cases followed by a generous serving of stewed apples

Transfer to oven and cook until golden (approx. 15-20 minutes)

Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly before adding coconut yoghurt and a sprinkle of cinnamon
