How to make Ulu Hye's

Easy Choc Peanut Butter Porridge

Not too long ago, I was craving anything and everything chocolate. So, I came up with this easy choc peanut butter porridge! Now I can get my chocolate fix on the reg, without feeling too guilty. This easy porridge is warming during these winter months, packed full of nutrients, gentle on the gut and made in under 10 minutes!

A healthy breakfast that ticks off all your macro nutrients and gives you a great hit of essential minerals.

The combination of oats, banana and date, hemp and sesame seeds provides you with an excellent source of soluble and insoluble fibre. Fibre is essential for healthy bowels; working as an intestinal broom to help absorb toxins and encourages the elimination of toxic waste aka healthy bowel movements! Fibre also stabilises blood sugars providing you with a sense of satiety for longer periods.

Our chocolate porridge is packed full of protein thanks to the oats hemp seeds, sesame seeds, nut milk and protein powder. You will fill fuller longer, have all you need for growth, repair and energy.

Choosing complex carbohydrates over simple carbohydrates (refined and often white in colour) is so important. The fiber content will be higher in complex carbs as well as giving you a sustained release of energy throughout the day, rather than quick spikes that drop just as quick. How do you know when your energy levels drop? It usually presents as sugar or carb cravings, low energy, moodiness and headaches. Often called three thirty-itis. Your body is after a quick fix to get energy levels back up again. Our winter warming porridge is packed full of complex carbohydrates giving you the best source of sustained energy to start your day.

Hemp seeds are an excellent source of essential fatty acids, in particular omega 3. The all mighty regulator of inflammation, nourisher of skin, hair and brain function.

Cacao is a rich source of magnesium as well a other trace minerals. Magnesium is a common deficiency in most of us. Deficiency can present as chocolate cravings (funny that), tense tight muscles, muscle cramps/spasms, eye twitching, disrupted sleep, stress and headaches. Magnesium is essential for the homeostasis of the nervous system. It is a key nutrient in ATP production (energy production). A very important mineral. Lucky this porridge gives you a good dose!
