How to make Ulu Hye's

Double Chocolate Brownie Bread

Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, this Double Chocolate Brownie Bread is absolute heaven. An easy recipe that serves up big with up to 10 servings – perfect for gatherings and get-togethers!


  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup coconut yoghurt
  • 2/3 cup almond milk (we used our Almond Mylk Base made milk)
  • 1 flax egg (1 tbsp ground flaxseed, 3 tbsp water)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup cocoa or cacao powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (or block of chocolate chopped)



Pre heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Combine all ingredients, reserving 1/2 cup of choc chips for the top of the bread and mix well. Transfer mixture to bread tin/mould.

Top with remaining 1/2 cup choc chips and place in the oven for 50-60 minutes (depending on your oven). Test with a metal skewer at the 50 minute mark.

Allow to cool before slicing and enjoy!
